Hate Graffiti Found At Annandale High School: Police
Police say hateful statements and symbols appeared on school property overnight Thursday.
ANNANDALE, VA—Fairfax County Police are investigating hate graffiti found at Annandale High School Thursday.
The school resource officer and Fairfax County Police were notified of the graffiti on school property that morning. Police say the graffiti contained derogatory statements and symbols. The graffiti was spray painted overnight, and police are following up on leads.
Fox5 reported that the graffiti displayed racist, anti-Semitic and homophobic statements or symbols. Principal Tim Thomas wrote a letter to families denouncing the act. "We are working closely with law enforcement to identify those responsible. I would encourage you to engage in conversations with your children about this incident," read a portion of the letter.
