Hot Tub Catches Fire In Lincolnia: Fire Department

A neighbor found the hot tub on fire when no one was home.

LINCOLNIA, VA—A hot tub caught fire at a Lincolnia house Friday, April 20, according to the Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department.

No one was home when firefighters responded to the fire in the 6400 block of 8th Street around 4:20 p.m. Units found the fire on the back deck extending into the attic. Firefighters were able to quickly contain and extinguish the blaze.

A neighbor had noticed the hot tub on fire and called 911. No injuries were reported.

Fire investigators determined an electrical problem involving the hot tub motor caused the fire. An initial estimate of damages to the home was $65,000. Red Cross assistance was declined.
