Jim Moran Introduces New Legislation to Protect Circus Animals

The new act will not affect animals in zoos or other captive wildlife facilities

New legislation intended to prevent animals who live and work for traveling circuses from being in such conditions for an extended period of time was introduced today by Rep. Jim Moran (D-8th).

Called the "Traveling Exotic Animal Protection Act," the legislation applies only to animals in traveling circuses. Animals in zoos, aquariums and other similar environments are not affected.
