Sketch Released After Man Assaults Girls In Annandale: Police
Police say the suspect inappropriately touched one girl and tried to touch the other.

ANNANDALE, VAāPolice are searching for a suspect after two girls were assaulted in Annandale Saturday, Jan. 5.
Around 6:30 p.m., the two girls were walking in the 7900 block of Charles Thomson Lane when they were approached by a man. The suspect inappropriately touched one of the girls. He tried to do the same with the other, but she fought him off.
The suspect ran away afterward. An immediate search of the area with the police helicopter and K9 unit was unsuccessful.

Police say there will be more officers in the area as they investigate the case. Detectives are canvassing the neighborhood with fliers starting at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Detectives have released a sketch of the suspect. The suspect was described as Hispanic, between 30 to 40 years old, 5 foot 4 to 5 foot 6 tall, with a heavy build and short black hair. He was wearing a green vest, plaid long sleeve shirt and blue jeans.
