Metro School of the Arts to Dazzle with The Nutcracker, Breakfast with Santa and Nutcracker in a Nutshell

Performing Arts Academy Performs Holiday Shows in December in Annandale and Alexandria

Metropolitan School of the Arts (MSA) of Alexandria and Lorton, Va. will present three, festive holiday performances in December, including:

- The Nutcracker on Thurs., Dec. 3 at 7 p.m. and Fri., Dec. 4 at 7 p.m., as well as Sat., Dec. 5 at
1 p.m. and 7 p.m at The Ernst Cultural Center at Annandale, Va. Tickets are $27 per adult and $21 for seniors/students at www.metropolitanarts.org.

- Breakfast with Santa will be featured on Sun., Dec. 6 at The Hotel Monaco in Old Town Alexandria. Tickets are $45 per adult and $35 for ages 9 and younger. Tickets at www.metropolitanarts.org.

- Nutcracker in a Nutshell is on Sun., Dec. 13 at the Nannie J. Lee Center (Kauffman Auditorium) in Old Town Alexandria at 1 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for ages 9 and younger. The pint-sized, 30-minute version of the Nutcracker is perfect for younger audiences. Go to www.metropolitanarts.org for tickets.

MSA features Clara and her Nutcracker in a magical journey from her Victorian home through the Land of Snow and into the Land of Sweets. With classic performances, a larger-than-life Christmas tree, more than 100 dancers and Tchaikovsky’s score, this performance makes The Nutcracker a true gift of imagination.

Breakfast with Santa features the MSA’s Frosty Follies show in historic Old Town Alexandria. Join favorite holiday characters for an exhilarating performance of the Broadway-style holiday revue, get pictures with the cast and enjoy a delectable Sunday brunch.

MSA presents a 30-minute Nutcracker performance for younger audiences, who are looking for an abbreviated version of the classic Nutcracker.

“Whether you’re enjoying the classic Nutcracker story, having Breakfast with Santa or watching Nutcracker in a Nutshell with your little one, MSA’s holiday performances will share the magic of Christmas,” said Melissa Dobbs, founder and president of Metropolitan School of the Arts Alexandria and Lorton, Va.
