ANNANDALE, VA — The Washington D.C. Temple Choir is holding a special concert on Saturday, June 11 in Annandale commemorating the rededication of the Washington D.C. Temple in Kensington, Maryland.

The concert will be held at the Annandale Stake Center at 3900 Howard Street in Annandale at 7 p.m. on June 11. The choir will be singing songs of worship as part of the rededication commemoration. The concert is free of charge, and all members of the public are welcome. Tickets are not required for the event.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints use the temple in Kensington for the religion's most sacred ceremonies. A renovation process that started in 2018 was recently completed.

For only the second time since it opened in 1974, the temple has been inviting the public inside during an open house. The temple open house will take place through June 11, excluding Sundays.

The official rededication of the Washington D.C. Temple will take place on Aug. 14.

The Washington D.C. Temple Choir, founded in 1980, has a current membership of 80 from about 50 Latter-day Saint congregations in the Maryland and Virginia regions. The choir is composed of singers and musicians who are selected by audition.

The choir is also holding a free temple rededication concert at 7 p.m. on June 12 at the Stake Center, 10000 Stoneybrook Drive, Kensington, Maryland.
