Moving Flood Waters Trap Car In Annandale (Photos)
More rain resulted in flood waters rushing from the Accotink Creek onto Annandale roads.

ANNANDALE, VA—Continuing rain on already saturated grounds and bloated creeks has resulted in flooding around Fairfax County. One of the scarier images is flood waters rushing in from Accotink Creek in Annandale.
Reports indicate a car got stuck in several feet of water at Woodburn Road. The driver safely escaped, but the vehicle had to be stranded.
A flood warning is in effect through 2 p.m. Tuesday for Annandale and other parts of central Fairfax County. An additional two inches of rain and thunderstorms are expected. Already saturated grounds from days of rain with additional rainfall could cause more flooding in the afternoon, the National Weather Service reports.

Flooding has prompted road closures in the warning area. These are confirmed road closures in Annandale:
- Murray Lane at Larchmont Drive, Annandale: Water in the roadway
- Woodburn Road at Leroy Place, Annandale: Water in the roadway
