None Injured In Annandale Nursing Home Fire
Fire investigators say smoking materials on a resident's bed started the blaze.

ANNANDALE, VA—No one was injured or displaced from a fire in Annandale nursing home Tuesday, Feb. 5.
Units responded to the 7100 block of Braddock Road around 10:49 p.m. Nursing home staff had put out the fire with a dry chemical extinguisher before firefighters arrived.
Nursing room staff had smelled smoke and discovered the fire in a resident's room. Staff got the resident out and issued protect in place procedures for other residents.

Investigators say improperly discarded smoking materials started the fire on the resident's bed. Damages are estimated to be $18,750.
The fire department did not identify the nursing home where the fire happened.
