There’s no doubt about who rules the Northern Region girls basketball universe and it's not the Annandale Atoms, Falls Church Jaguars or Thomas Jefferson Colonials.
Our panel of coaches unanimously tabbed Oakton as the top team in the region with West Springfield nipping at their heels in the No. 2 spot. Before we get to the rest of the rankings, let’s meet the panel:

Pat Neri – Woodson
Dianne Lewis – Edison
The top 10 appears separated into three tiers. Just as the Cougars and Spartans have separated themselves from the pack, our No. 3 and No. 4 teams, Mount Vernon and Robinson, are head-and-shoulders above teams five through 10. There’s a huge 16-point gap between the Rams and No. 5 Edison Eagles, and then a slim 9-point margin between Edison and No. 10 Stone Bridge Bulldogs.
Others Receiving Votes: Centreville - 9, Woodson - 7, Yorktown - 4, Chantilly - 2
