Breaking: Police Investigating Officer-Involved Shooting In Annandale

ANNANDALE, VA — A man was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries Tuesday after a Fairfax County police officer fired a weapon during a response to a domestic incident in Annandale, according to police.

The officer-involved shooting occurred in the 7000 block of Sutter Lane.

According to a preliminary investigation, officers responded to a report of a domestic incident involving a knife. Police said they located a man who had fled the scene on foot, and during the encounter, one officer discharged his firearm.

The man was transported to a local hospital with injuries that police described as non-life-threatening.

Detectives have responded to the scene and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

Fairfax County Police Chief Kevin Davis is expected to provide remarks from the scene. No additional information about the circumstances leading up to the shooting or whether any officers were injured was immediately released.
