Assistance League Encourages Everyone To Practice Kindness This Week

February 17 is NATIONAL RANDOM ACTS OF KINDNESS DAY and the entire week is Kindness Week. Assistance League of Northern Virginia encourages everyone to do something nice for loved ones and strangers, and thereby give yourself the inner glow that comes from knowing you made a difference in someone’s life. Counteract negativity with appreciation, gratitude, and encouragement. Small gestures have an unknown impact, but when kindness is contagious, the ripple effect of benevolence is never small.

If you prefer to practice recurring acts of kindness rather than random ones, join Assistance League and experience that inner glow on a regular basis. The charity’s philanthropic programs have been feeding, clothing, and educating some of the most vulnerable elementary school students in the community for nearly 20 years. It also provides essential items to new mothers and families. As a member, you’ll feel empowered by the knowledge that you’ve improved the prospects of children and families in Fairfax and Prince William counties and the city of Alexandria. Your help represents an investment in the success of the next generation while also improving your own happiness and sense of well-being. Check Assistance League’s web site: www.alnv.org to learn about its programs and for information on membership.
