Police: Annandale Man Arrested in Sexual Assault
The 20-year-old is charged with breaking into woman's apartment, and attacking another woman who tried to intervene.

ANNANDALE, VA — An Annandale man is in jail after Fairfax County police arrested him Wednesday on charges that he sexually assaulted a woman in her apartment and attacked another woman who tried to intervene
Burhan Nurhussein Ahmed, 20, has been charged with abduction with intent to defile, burglary with intent to defile, object sexual penetration, forcible sodomy, aggravated sexual battery and attempted object sexual penetration, the police said. He's being held in the Adult Detention Center in Fairfax City.
The incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon, as the woman was moving out of her apartment in the 7900 block of John Adams Court. The suspect came in through an open door, grabbed the woman and sexually assaulted her, the police said.

A neighbor, a 37-year-old woman, heard the victim screaming and entered the apartment to intervene, the police said. The suspect pulled to the floor by her hair and ran off toward Rectory Lane.
Acting on information from the victim, the police identifed Ahmed as the suspect and arrested him at 3:45 p.m. Wednesday, about 24 hours after the assault.

Both victims were taken to a local hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries, the police said.
