Police Arrest 2 Suspects in Connection with Annandale Thefts

Police say a laptop computer, loose change, knives, cigarettes and Chuck-E-Cheese game tokens were stolen from area cars.

Fairfax County Police have arrested two suspect in what they say is a string of thefts from cars in Annandale.

Officers responded to a call Wednesday in the early hours, at about 2:54 a.m., in the 7600 block of Camp Alger Avenue, from a man who told police he saw people rummaging through his van.

Officers approached two men, questioned them and say they have linked them to at least 10 vehicle larceny cases in the area.

Numerous items were stolen, ranging from a laptop computer to loose change, knives, cigarettes and Chuck-E-Cheese game tokens, according to police.

Fairfax County detectives are looking into the possibility that the suspects are connected to dozens of recent similar break-ins in the Westlawn area of Annandale, according to police.

Christopher Hemmelgrain, 31 and Michael Puckett, 25, both of no fixed addressed, were arrested, police said.

Property Crime Detectives are investigating and sorting through property, which will be returned to owners, if possible.

Police are urging residents to keep vehicle doors locked and keep valuables out of sight and to report any suspicious activity.
