UPDATE: Reported Attempted Abduction Is False Report, Police Say
Police say boy, 12, alleged he was a victim; detectives determined this was a false report.

UPDATE, 1 p.m. Monday: Fairfax County Police released the following information Monday afternoon about an earlier report of an abduction at a local elementary school:
This morning detectives in the Major Crimes Division interviewed the 12-year-old boy who alleged he was the victim of an attempted abduction on Friday afternoon in the Springfield area. Detectives determined this was a false report and the attempted abduction did not occur.

Fairfax County Police say they are investigating a reported attempted abduction Friday in the Springfield area.
On Friday around 3:15 p.m., a man approached a juvenile male in front of the main entrance of Ravensworth Elementary School, located in the 5400 block of Nutting Drive, according to a news release from FCPD that went out late Sunday night on Twitter.

The suspect grabbed the victim from behind and attempted to lure him away from the front of the school, according to police. The victim resisted and was able to free himself from the suspect, police said. The victim did not require medical attention, according to police.
The suspect left the area and was described as a white male, 20 to 30 years of age, about 6 feet tall, between 225 to 250 pounds, blonde hair, and wearing a black long sleeve shirt and blue jeans, police said.
