Police Charge Man with Murder in Annandale Death

An investigation by Fairfax County Police has led to a murder charge for Ubaldo Lopez Yanez, 31, with no fixed address, in connection with a death investigation in Annandale, police said in a news release Friday morning.

While the identity of the victim has yet to be determined, police say they believe the suspect and victim were known to each other.

Preliminary information suggests that both the victim and suspect were homeless men using an unoccupied apartment, according to FCPD.

Police were called Thursday afternoon, at about 3:21 p.m., to the 4200 block of Wadsworth Court, for a report of an unresponsive male. Officers located a deceased adult male with trauma to the upper body.
