A news release from the police states that a man took the girl from a playground near Lachine Lane and Manitoba Drive in Alexandria between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m., lead her into the basement of a nearby building and sexually assaulted her. It is unclear if the girl was alone or how she escaped. Officer Bud Walker, a spokesperson with the Fairfax County Police Department, did not have further details to release. The man is described as Hispanic of medium height with average to heavy build and black hair. He was wearing a white, long sleeve button down shirt and dark pants.
