Prelude to the Super Bowl

A Baroque Concert with a Touch of the Romantic

Join us for an organ “prelude to the Super Bowl” on Sunday, Feb 1, 4:00 pm, at St. Alban’s Episcopal Church on Columbia Pike. David Kelley, Minister of Music at Church of the Holy Comforter in Vienna, VA, will present a program featuring the great Baroque composers of Germany: Buxtehude, Pachelbel, Kuhnau, Walther, and Bach. As a complement to this heritage, the concert will include Mendelssohn, who – along with his own early Romantic compositions - reignited appreciation of Bach’s genius. The custom built tracker organ at St. Alban’s is particularly authentic for music from this era.
David holds a Master of Liturgical Music degree and a Master of Music degree from The Catholic University of America, and a Bachelor of Music degree from Furman University. The concert is free. For those so inclined, you can be home in time for pre-game and kick-off. For everyone else, please linger over light refreshments. For more information, contact the St. Alban’s church office at 703-256-2966.
