Springfield Man Charged In Fatal Pedestrian-Involved Crash In Annandale
Police have charged the BMW driver who they say struck and killed a 56-year-old woman while she was crossing John Marr Drive in February.
ANNANDALE, VA — Fairfax County Police announced on Sunday that they'd charged a 20-year-old Springfield man in connection to a fatal pedestrian-involved crash that occurred last month month in Annandale, according to authorities.
Fairfax County police officers responded shortly after 5:30 p.m. on Feb. 28 to investigate the report of a pedestrian-involved crash on John Marr Drive between Backlick and Ravensworth roads.
"Officers determined that the driver of a 2012 BMW was traveling westbound on John Marr Drive toward Ravensworth Road," according to the incident report. "The pedestrian, Sun Hyo Kim, 56, of Annandale, was crossing John Marr Drive from the south side to the north side when she was struck by the BMW."

Kim was taken to a nearby hospital to be treated for life-threatening injuries and was later declared deceased, according to police. The BMW driver, identified as 20-year-old Lucas Lese, was uninjured and remained on the scence.
On Sunday, FCPD announced that they'd charged Lese with failure to stop for pedestrians and served a summons releasable warrant, according to the incident report.
