Suspect With Machete Ambushes Man In Annandale: Police
A suspect armed with a machete was arrested the same night a group of teens ambushed a man down the road in Annandale.

ANNANDALE, VA—Police made one arrest in two unrelated attempted robberies on the same road Thursday evening in Annandale.
The first happened around 5:50 p.m. when a suspect approached a man and demanded money in the 7900 block of Heritage Drive. When the victim refused, the suspect began swinging what was described as a machete but did not injure the victim. Police found the suspect nearby and arrested him.
Enoc Herrera-Chan, 25, of Centreville, was charged with attempted robbery, attempted malicious wounding and being drunk in public. According to court records, he will appear in general district court during February and March.

Police are still seeking suspects in the second robbery, which happened around 7:39 p.m. A man was walking in the 7800 block of Heritage Drive when a teenager approached, said something and punched him. Two or three more teens appeared after a brawl broke out and started hitting the man.
They fled after taking money from the victim, who had minor injuries. No suspect descriptions have been released.
