Suspect Sketch Released After Minor Nearly Abducted In Annandale

Police continue to seek surveillance footage from the day of the attempted abduction.

ANNANDALE, VA — Police released a suspect sketch after a man tried to abduct a juvenile in Annandale on Oct. 13. As the investigation continues, detectives renewed a call for surveillance footage from that day in the area of Wheatwheel Drive and Gallows Road.

The attempted abduction happened around 3 p.m. in the 3300 block of Wheatwheel Lane. The juvenile was playing with a friend near the road when the man picked him or her up from behind. The juvenile fought off the man and went home. The suspect fled the area after the juvenile got free.

The suspect was described as a late 20 to early 30-year-old black man with a medium complexion, short black hair and thin build. He has a small scratch on his face and was clean shaven. He had been wearing a dark shirt and slim-fitted pants at the time.
