Teens' Attempt To Steal Truck Thwarted In Annandale Pursuit

Four teens attempted to steal a truck and flee from the scene, but K9 units helped track them down, police say.

ANNANDALE, VA—An attempt to steal a truck backfired for a group of teens in Annandale overnight Tuesday, police say.

Around 1:34 a.m., a witness reported two people fleeing after a car alarm went off in the 8800 block of Nero Street. Officers searched the area and saw a truck speeding away.

A chase ensued, and the truck stopped soon after. The truck's occupants fled on foot, but officers and K9 units tracked them down. It turned out that the truck was stolen.

Two teenage boys, 17 and 15, of Maryland, were charged with grand larceny. Two teenage girls, 16 and 15, also from Maryland, were charged with possession of stolen property.
