Two Displaced by House Fire Tuesday in Annandale
Combustibles placed on top of a toaster caused the fire, officials said.

Firefighters from Fairfax County Fire and Rescue responded to a house fire Tuesday at approximately 5:30 p.m., in the Annandale area of Fairfax County, according to the department. The single-family home is located in the 3900 block of Rose Lane.
When they arrived at the home, firefighters found smoke coming from the basement of the two-story home, the department said. Firefighters conducted an aggressive fire attack and quickly extinguished the fire, according to the department. An occupant discovered the fire prior to the activation of a smoke alarm in the basement, the department said.
The fire department said that two occupants have been displaced. Red Cross support was offered, but declined by the occupants, the department said. There were no injuries.

Damage is estimated at $25,000.
