On Sunday afternoon, former Washington Redskins running back Brian Mitchell helped the Annandale Sports Club kick off their flag football season opener at in Fairfax.

The event gave the enrolled 30-plus enrolled kids and their parents a chance to not only mingle with Mitchell, but to collect their jerseys and meet their teammates, flag football coach Chris Haley, ASC president and basketball commisoner Terry Adams. Haley and Adams spoke to the crowd before introducing Mitchell. Following the speeches, the kids ran a number of drills while Mitchell watched and even offered some pointers.
