Woman Charged After Destroying American Flags In Annandale
Police believe the woman destroyed American flags in several neighborhoods and believe there could be more victims.

ANNANDALE, VA — A woman is facing charges for destroying American flags in Annandale neighborhoods, according to Fairfax County Police.
Maria Arif, 39, of Annandale, was arrested on Aug. 26 and charged with larceny, two counts of destruction of property and two counts of mutilating a U.S. flag. She was taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center and posted bond.
According to the Annandale Blog, police took reports of 12 incidents. The cases involved flags that were cut as well as other damaged yard decor. There was no word on why Arif allegedly destroyed the flags.
