Woman Gets 40 Years For MS-13 Revenge Murder Of Teen

The woman, who thought the 15-year-old girl lured her boyfriend to his murder, previously confessed to stabbing the girl.

A woman will serve 40 years in prison for the brutal gang-related stabbing of a 15-year-old girl for revenge in Springfield last year. She is the 10th and final conviction in the MS-13-related death of Damaris Alexandra Reyes Rivas.

Venus Romero Iraheta, now 18, previously admitted to Fairfax County Police investigatorsabout stabbing and murdering the girl, NBC Washington reported. She had believed Reyes Rivas had been involved in her boyfriend Christian Sosa Rivas' murder.

Iraheta told detectives of what she said to Reyes Rivas: "'You’re going to remember me until the day we see each other in hell." After that, Iraheta admitted to detectives she killed the girl.

Reyes Rivas reportedly left home in late 2016 and told her mother she'd received threats from gang members at school. Gang members reportedly got her to the Lake Accotink area to smoke marijuana, but they began questioning her about Sosa Rivas.

The attacks on Reyes Rivas had been captured on cell phone videos. According to court testimony, Iraheta stabbed the girl 13 times.

Reyes Rivas' body had been found near a Springfield industrial park in February 2017. Sosa Rivas' remains were found a month before in Dumfries.
