19 Violations At 1 Restaurant | Arlington Restaurant Inspections

Arlington County reported violations at Rincome Thai Cuisine on May 16.

ARLINGTON, VA — Arlington County regularly conducts inspections of local restaurants. Reports are generally posted about a week after the inspection.

Rincome Thai Cuisine located on Columbia Pike had a staggering 19 violations during its May 16 inspection, including reports of a dead mouse and a general state of disrepair.

Critical violation: Observation: Refrigerated sprouts received at a temperature above 41ºF (bag of sprouts delivered from "Five Star" today around 10 a.m. in the walk-in refrigerator at 60 F and rice noodles at 69 F.) The facility was instructed to not accept TCS foods in the danger zone of 42-134 F unless milk or shellstock can be up to 45 F.

Critical violation: Observation: The wiping cloth chlorine chemical sanitizer was found too high (>200 ppm); solution was poured out and water was added; maintain between 50-200 ppm.

Critical violation: Observation: Rodent bait is not contained in a covered and tamper-resistant bait station under the shelving at the server station.

Non-critical violation: Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Several cans of food were found dented on their seams and or severely dented. They were properly segregated not to be used/awaiting to be redeemed for credit from supplier.

Non-critical violation: Observation: Food containers of brown rice were not arranged to provide maximum heat transfer and/or loosely covered, or uncovered while cooling (covered & stacked on top of one another.)

Non-critical violation: Observation: The nonfood-contact surfaces of the cardboard box used to line a kitchen counter drawer and aluminium foil used to line the shelves of the spice cart are not corrosion-resistant, nonabsorbent, and/or smooth.

Non-critical violation: Observation: The dishmachine sprayer counter area is no longer properly sealed to it's adjoining wall.

Non-critical violation: Observation: The prep refrigerator right door gasket is not maintained in a state of repair and condition that meets the requirements of materials for construction and repair and/or design.

Non-critical violation: Observation: Surfaces inside the ice machine and the bar blender lid were not clean.

Non-critical violation: Observation: The nonfood-contact surfaces of the steamtable lower shelf, the shelves inside the walk-in refrigerator, prep refrigerator, dry storage room and server station are not cleaned at a frequency necessary to preclude the accumulation of soil residues.

Non-critical violation: Observation: Boxes, buckets and containers observed improperly stored on the floor at the server station, bar, kitchen, dry storage room and closet.

Non-critical violation: Observation: The bar hand sink and three part sink are not in good repair (both are dripping underneath; the three part sink is rusty underneath.) The hot and cold water handles are reversed at the women's rest-room handsink located on the second floor.

Non-critical violation: Observation: The hotel trash dumpster kept outside the food establishment were observed not kept covered with tight-fitting lids.

Non-critical violation: Observation: Three light bulbs in the kitchen ceiling and the lights in the dry storage room are not shielded, coated, or otherwise shatter-resistant.

Non-critical violation: Observation (REPEAT): The light intensity is below 50 foot candles where a food employee is working with food in the kitchen (repair/replace broken light fixtures/bulbs.)

Non-critical violation: Observation (REPEAT): The ceiling above the server station, the ceiling foyer of the restaurant from the hotel, the kitchen ceiling over the hand sink and second hanging light fixture by the cook-line (water leaking down into a bucket), the kitchen closet ceiling (sprinkler piping dripping water), the kitchen wall between the ice machine and dish machine counter top, the interior door panel of the walk-in refrigerator, the floor under the bar three part sink, wall paper in the dining area, the wall/cove base at the bar (duct tape) and the women's rest-room ceiling/wall over the toilet located on the second floor are not maintained in good repair.

Non-critical violation: Observation: Insect, rodent, and/or other pest harborage conditions were observed on the premises (mouse droppings were observed on the shelves of the server station and on the floor in dry storage room.)

Non-critical violation: Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): A dead or trapped mouse on a glue board on the floor in the dry storage room was not removed from the control device and/or the premises at a frequency that prevented their accumulation, decomposition, or the attraction of other pests.

Non-critical violation: Observation (REPEAT): The server station, bar, kitchen, dry storage room and closet floors, the kitchen walls and the walk-in refrigerator ceiling and walls are not cleaned as often as necessary to keep them clean.
