2 Children Struck On Sidewalk After Car Crash In Arlington
Arlington County police said the collision happened just after 3 p.m. near two Arlington schools.
ARLINGTON, VA — Two children were injured Tuesday when they were struck by a car that careened onto a sidewalk following a crash near two Arlington schools, according to police.
The crash happened around 3:10 p.m. at the intersection of South Carlin Springs Road and Third Street South, near Kenmore Middle and Carlin Springs Elementary schools, a spokesperson for Arlington County police told Patch.
According to police, two cars were involved in the initial crash. Following the collision, one of the involved cars left the road and struck two children on the sidewalk.

According to traffic camera video reviewed by ARLnow, the crash happened when a beige Lexus heading south on Carlin Springs Road turned left onto Third Street and was struck by a northbound red car.
The impact of the crash also sent the red car into a crosswalk, the report said.

The two children were taken to the hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, police said. The drivers of both cars remained on scene.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
