2 Robberies, 1 Involving An Assault Investigated By Arlington Police

ARLINGTON, VA — Arlington County Police are looking for the persons responsible for two separate robberies that took place earlier this week. One of the robberies involved an assault.

In the first incident, officers responded around 12:40 p.m., on Tuesday to a store in the 1200 block of S. Hayes Street for the report of a robbery by force. They determined that a man had entered the store and tried to purchase secured merchandise. When an employee showed the man the merchandise, he grabbed it and tried to leave the store, according to police.

The man pushed the employee and left the business without paying for the merchandise. The victim received minor injuries, but they did not need medical attention, according to police. Officers searched the area around the store but were unable to locate the suspect.

Police described the suspect as a Black man, who stood approximately 5-foot-8 to 6-feet in height with short dreadlocks. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a light-colored hoodie, jeans and black shoes.

In the second case, police responded to Virginia Hospital Center early Thursday moring for the report of an assault. Investigators determined that between 12:17 a.m. and 1:30 a.m. the victim was in the unit block of N. Glebe Road when he was approached by two unknown men. The men assaulted the victim, took his personal property, and then fled the area.

During the attack, the victim received non-life-threatening injuries and he was to travel to the hospital on his own, according to police. Descriptions of the two men were not available.
