2 Robberies In Crystal City Under Investigation: Police

ARLINGTON, VA — Arlington County Police are investigating two robberies that occurred Monday in the Crystal City area, according to the daily crime report.

In the first case, officers were dispatched around 1:51 a.m., to the 500 block of 23rd Street S., for the report of an armed robbery. A preliminary investigation determined the victim was walking in the area when he saw an unknown man exit a vehicle and then approach him. The man brandished a firearm and took the victim's phone and other items of value, before fleeing the scene in the vehicle. Police described the suspect as a man standing 5-foot-10 to 6-feet in height, with a thin build, clean shaven and short hair. The vehicle is described as a white SUV.

In the second case, police responded around 12:25 p.m., to the 1700 block of S. Clark Street, for the report of a robbery. They determined the victim had exited a bus and was walking in the area when a man approached him and demanded his personal belongings. After the victim declined, the man grabbed his shirt. The victim was able to free himself and seek help from building security nearby. Police described the suspect as a Black man, standing approximately 5-foot-9 to 5-foot-11, with a skinny build and bleached hair. He was wearing black jeans, black sneakers, and headphones.

Both cases remain under investigation.
