Second Shooting In A Week Reported On The Same Block In The Green Valley Area
Arlington County Police are investing the second shooting to occur within a week in the same block in the Green Valley neighborhood.

ARLINGTON, VA — For the second time in a week, Arlington County Police are investigating reports of the sound of gunshots in the Green Valley neighborhood, according to a release.
Officers responded around 12:30 a.m. on Thursday for a report of shots being heard in the 3200 block of 24th Street S. After searching the area, police found evidence of gunshots having been fired. They did not locate anyone who had been injured or property that had been damaged.
The incident came a day after ACPD announced the arrest of Angelo Mobley, 29, of Arlington. Police filed multiple charges against him on Tuesday, including malicious wounding, in connection with another shooting that occurred in the same block on Saturday night.

Based on ACPD's preliminary investigation of both shootings, the incidents appear to be unrelated, according to Ashley Savage, a public information officer with the police department. She added that Mobley remains in custody at the Arlington County Detention Facility.
"ACPD is working collaboratively with the Green Valley Civic Association, Arlington Public Schools, the Department of Parks and Recreation and other county agencies and key stakeholders to address crime and quality of life issues in the area," Savage said. "Officers are conducting extra patrols to include a visible presence during the hours of concern."
