Three Arlington County Police officers were injured Tuesday night while attempting to take a disorderly suspect into custody.

ARLINGTON, VA — Three Arlington County Police officers were injured Tuesday evening as they attempted to take a drunken suspect into custody outside a Columbia Pike business, according to the daily crime report.
Around 6:25 p.m., officers were dispatched to a business in the 2900 block of Columbia Pike for the report of an intoxicated man acting disorderly after he was refused service. The individual who made the initial call updated police saying that the man was fighting with customers and threatening employees, according to police.
The arriving officers located the suspect outside of the business. As they attempted to handcuff the man, he became combative, resisted arrest, and assaulted three officers. Two of the officers suffered head injuries and another was kicked and struck by the suspect. They were able to take the suspect into custody. He was uninjured during the struggle. The officers were taken to a nearby hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries. The police also took the suspect to the hospital for evaluation, where he was subsequently medically cleared.
