After-School Activities Canceled At Arlington Public Schools
Arlington Public Schools canceled after-school activities for Wednesday in anticipation of potentially threatening weather conditions.
ARLINGTON, VA — Arlington Public Schools has canceled all after-school activities on Wednesday, according to a post on the official APS Twitter account.
Extended Dat at APS will remain open until 6 p.m., but families are asked to pick up their students as soon as possible.
National Weather Service issued a tornado watch until 7 p.m. for Northern Virginia, D.C. and parts of Maryland.

NWS also issued a flash flood watch Wednesday morning for Arlington. The watch is in effect through Thursday morning.
Heavy thunderstorms are expected to pass through the Washington, D.C. area Wednesday morning, bringing localized flash flooding, according to NWS.

Additional thunderstorms are predicted for the afternoon and evening, bringing rainfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches and as much as 6 inches in some areas.
