Alexandria Home Care Provider Honored by Chamber

Griswold Home Care's Christine Friedberg Chosen as a "40 Under 40" Winner for Achievement and Community Impact

Christine Friedberg, owner and director of Griswold Home Care of Northern Virginia East, has been named a “40 Under 40” honoree by the Alexandria Chamber of Commerce. She was chosen for her “professional achievements, educational accomplishments, and community impact,” according to the Chamber.

Friedberg opened her business in 2012 after a career as a franchise consultant, and currently has more than 100 employees. The company provides nonclinical care to seniors and others who need assistance to remain in their homes.

Friedberg is a member of the Rotary Club of Alexandria, and was named its Rotarian of the Year in 2016. She serves on the board of Rebuilding Together Alexandria, and the Jean Griswold Foundation, the charitable arm of Griswold Home Care. Her office raises money for the Foundation and each year hands out grants in its name to nonprofits that support seniors living at home. She also volunteers for Senior Services of Alexandra.

“I love Alexandria and am proud to be contributing to the social and economic success of our community, while doing work that has deep personal meaning,” said Friedberg.

“Christine is that person who leads by example,” wrote Thomas Roberts, Jr., past president of the Rotary Club of Alexandria, in support of her nomination. “She always brings a smile, and lots of energy and enthusiasm to everything she does with Rotary and she truly exemplifies [the Rotary motto] ‘Service Above Self.’”

Added Katharine Dixon, president and CEO of Building Together Alexandria, “She gives of her time to help make Alexandria the great community that so many people love to call home. In her role on the Board, Christine is working to blend her professional experience at Griswold Home Care to help our organization better understand how to best serve the residents of Alexandria that fit within our mission.”

Friedberg will formally accept her award alongside the other honorees at a Chamber banquet July 19, 2018, at United Way Worldwide.
