In late March, Arlington County Police said they were investigating four reports of paintballs and pellets being shot from vehicles at people in the prior week. The incidents appeared to stem from challenges that originated on social media, according to police.
"While the motivation behind the Arlington incidents is unknown at this time, the Arlington County Police Department takes these incidents seriously and continues to actively investigate to identify those responsible," police said at the time.
