Another Starbucks is Coming to Ballston

It will be Ballston's third Starbucks location, and fourth if you count the one at Virginia Square.

ARLINGTON, VA — Ballston will be getting its third Starbucks, according to a permit application filed last week with the county.

Marymount University is nearing completion of its "Newside" building at 1000 N. Glebe Road, and it appears Starbucks will be its first retail tenant. A permit application filed April 13 with Arlington County on behalf of the Starbucks Corporation states that it is for a "new coffee shop" that will have outdoor seating.

The Newside building will have 5,000 square feet of retail space. The rest of the building will be used by the university for office and educational space, with the top three floors being leased for office space. Construction is set for completion by the summer.

The new Starbucks will be just a stone's throw away from a Starbucks at 801 N. Glebe Road, and just a couple blocks further is another Starbucks at 901 N. Stuart Street. There's also a Starbucks right outside the nearby Virginia Square-GMU Metro station.
