Appliance Explodes At Pentagon City Apartment: Authorities

ARLINGTON, VA — Emergency personnel responded to an appliance explosion Sunday at an apartment in Pentagon City, according to authorities.

The incident occurred in the 1600 block of South Joyce Street, Arlington Fire & EMS said around 3 p.m. in a social media post. The apartment's occupant received medical treatment at the scene but declined to be transported for further care, according to a 4 p.m. update from the agency.

Gas at the apartment was secured and Washington Gas was responding to the scene, authorities said, adding no other units were damaged.
