ARLINGTON, VA -- It's starting to feel like summer, and that means the 4th of July is right around the corner. It's a holiday that involves patriotism, grilling, and -- of course -- fireworks.

Fireworks Viewing at Long Bridge Park
Long Bridge Park, Arlington
There's no better place to view the spectacular fireworks display on the National Mall than right across the river at Long Bridge Park in Arlington. There will be no July 4th celebration this year "due to budget constraints," but the park will remain open for fireworks viewing, according to Arlington County.

Rosslyn: Gateway Park is a short walk to the north of the Rosslyn Metro station. Or, head up to the Key Bridge, which is another prime viewing spot for fireworks.
Gravely Point: From south of Reagan National Airport, head north on George Washington Memorial Parkway, and about a quarter of a mile before the 14th Street Bridge you'll see an exit for a parking area for Gravely Point.
Herndon 4th of July
Bready Park, 814 Ferndale Ave., Herndon
The Town of Herndon will host a "family-fun event" on Wednesday, July 4 that will feature games, patriots arts and crafts activities, live music, family games, food, balloon artists, and a fireworks show.
A "fabulous fireworks show" choreographed to music begins at around 9:30 p.m., according to the town's website.
Lake Fairfax Park's 4th of July Celebration
1400 Lake Fairfax Drive, Reston (near Water Mine Family Swimmin' Hole)
If you want to get a jump-start on the festivities, Lake Fairfax Park will be hosting a "4th of July Celebration" on the 30th of June.
"The Park is home to a popular annual fireworks display," according to DullesMoms.com "However, until the skies dim, there is plenty to do. Enjoy a family puppet show, live music, boat rentals (fee-based), and don’t forget the Water Mine Family Swimmin’ Hole (fee-based)! Plus, Lake Fairfax Park also boasts campgrounds, a skatepark, and pump track, too."
The fireworks start at around 9:15 p.m. Be sure to bring blankets and chairs.
There will be a $10 parking fee.
Fairfax's 52nd Annual Independent Day Celebration
4100 Chain Bridge Road, Fairfax
A parade will loop around downtown Fairfax in the afternoon. As the sun sets, head over to Fairfax High School at 3501 Rebel Run, where there will be music and dancing as well as children's activities. On-stage entertainment begins at 6 p.m., and the fireworks show will begin after dark, which is around 9:15-9:30 p.m.
Great Falls 4th of July Hometown Celebration
Great Falls Village Centre, Great Falls
There will be a 5K, parade, and other activities at the Village Centre. For fireworks, head to Turner Farm Park after 6 p.m., where there will be a fireworks show after dark.
