Arlington Coronavirus Update: 7 New Cases, No New Deaths

There are seven new cases of the new coronavirus in the Arlington Health District as of Tuesday.

ARLINGTON, VA — There are seven new cases of the new coronavirus in the Arlington Health District as of Tuesday morning, bringing the total number of cases in the health district to 2,431.

There were no additional COVID-19-related deaths in the health district as of Tuesday, and the death count remains at 126, according to the Virginia Department of Health. COVID-19 is the disease caused by the coronavirus. In the health district, there are currently 414 hospitalized patients, up two patients since Monday.

As of Tuesday, there are 58,994 total cases statewide, according to data reported by the Virginia Department of Health. In Virginia, there have been 1,645 coronavirus-related deaths to date. There are currently 5,913 hospitalized COVID-19 patients.

There have been 16 coronavirus outbreaks in the Arlington Health District as of Tuesday, with 542 cases related to an outbreak. There have been 11 outbreaks at long term care facilities, two outbreaks at a congregate setting and two outbreaks in health care settings in Arlington. There have been 170 reported coronavirus cases in Arlington health care workers.

On Tuesday, Virginia health officials reported 20,292 COVID-19 tests have been taken in Arlington, with a 4.8 percent positivity rate. Statewide there have been 627,248 COVID-19 tests taken, with a 6.1 percent positivity rate.

Globally, more than 9.1 million people have been infected by COVID-19, and over 472,000 people have died, Johns Hopkins University reported Tuesdaymorning. In the United States, more than 2.3 million people have been infected and over 120,000 people have died from COVID-19.

  • 20-29: 407 cases
  • 30-39: 439 cases

  • 80+: 204 cases
