Arlington County Fair Begins Next Week With Rides, Games And More

Need one more summer event? Enjoy carnival rides, local performers, games and more at the Arlington County Fair Aug. 16-20.

ARLINGTON, VA — Summer is winding down and school's about to start, but if you want one last hurrah with the whole family before everything gets back into gear, you can't do much better than the Arlington County Fair Aug. 16-20.

The fair will kick off Wednesday, Aug. 16 and will continue through Sunday, Aug. 21 at the Thomas Jefferson Community Center, which is located just off Arlington Boulevard at 3501 2nd Street South.

Activities include pony rides, local performers, carnival rides, pig races, goat races, games and, of course, plenty of food.

The third annual community Fair Parade will be held Saturday, Aug. 19. The parade will start at 10 a.m. at the Arlington Career Center at 816 South Walter Reed Dr. The route is just under one mile. Participants can park at the Career Center and use the Fair shuttle to return to their cars.

Parade participants include the U.S. Army Color Guard, Alma Boliviana, Arlington County Combined Honor Guard, Girl Scouts Association 60-3, Sultanas Troupe, Two Men And A Truck, Vote McCullough and Yorktown Dance Team.

Beware, however: there's no public parking at the fair, so you'll have to use either private transport services like Uber, public transit or shuttle services around the county to get there. Full details to plan your trip are here.
