39th Annual Arlington County Fair Underway

The 39th Annual Arlington County Fair started Wednesday and continues each day through Sunday at the Thomas Jefferson Community Center, 3501 Second St. South in Arlington.

Hours of the Arlington County Fair are:

  • Wednesday: 5-10 p.m. (outdoors only)
  • Thursday: 5-10 p.m. (outdoors only)
  • Friday: 4-10 p.m. (indoors) 2-11 p.m. (outdoors)
  • Saturday: 10 a.m.-9 p.m. (indoors) 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. (outdoors)
  • Sunday: 11 a.m.-7 p.m. (indoors) 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. (outdoors)

The fair will feature performances on outdoor and indoor stages, racing piglets, pony rides (be aware that the ponies will take breaks during the day to rest and eat) and carnival rides. Ride tickets may be purchased on the fair grounds at the following prices: Single tickets for $1, 24 tickets for $20 and 48 tickets for $40. Details on the number of tickets required for each ride are posted at the ticket booth.

More fun for kids: Face painting, inflatables, the monster mural, and other games and activities will fill the Kids’ Court with fun for children. Groovy Nate performances are a unique blend of music, interactive movement, and comedy into one groovy experience for the whole family. Be sure to visit the basketball court to experience the excitement of the Harlem Wizards! All activities on the Kids’ Court are free.

Every kind of food will be sold — from smoothies and ice cream to hot dogs and gyros— by more than a dozen food vendors.

Outdoor movies are scheduled for Friday and Saturday nights at the fairgrounds.

An awards ceremony for competitive exhibits is Sunday at 3 p.m.

Parking is restricted at the site to ADA parking, located directly in front of the center; nearby street parking is for residents only, according to organizers. Shuttle buses will be running every 30 minutes from the following locations:

  • Ballston Metro
  • Arlington Career Center
  • Pentagon City Metro
  • I-66 Parking Garage

The shuttle bus fare is $2 roundtrip and free for those 65 and older and 12 and younger.
