Arlington County School Calendar 2017-18: First Day Of School, Vacations, Holidays

ARLINGTON COUNTY, VA — Record scratch, school can't be right around the corner, can it? It's still a ways away, but these things have a knack for sneaking up on you during the dog days of summer. The first day of school in Arlington County is September 5.

The Arlington County County Public School District has released its 2017-2018 calendar for public schools. The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

Here is the full list of dates to know for this school year:

September

• 9/5: First Day of School for Students

October

• 10/9: No School (Columbus Day)
• 10/26: Elementary School Parent Teacher Conferences, no school for elementary students
• 10/27: Parent Teacher Conferences, no school for elementary/middle school students

November

• 11/7: No School (Grade Preparation Day)
• 11/10: No School (Veterans Day)
• 11/22-24: No School (Thanksgiving)

December

• 12/13: Early Release for middle school, high school students
• 12/25 - 12/29: No School (Winter Break)

January

• 1/1: No School (New Year's Day)
• 1/15: No School (Martin Luther King, Jr. Day)
• 1/26: No School (Grade Preparation Day)

February

• 2/14: Early Release
• 2/19: No School (Presidents' Day)

March

• 3/1: Elementary School Parent Teacher Conferences, no school for elementary students
• 3/2: Parent Teacher Conferences, no school for elementary/middle school students
• 3/26-30: No School (Spring Break)

April

• 4/9: No School (Grade Preparation Day)

May

• 5/28: No School (Memorial Day)

June

• 6/14: High School Graduation
• 6/15: Last Day High School (Early Release)
• 6/18: Middle School Promotion
• 6/19: Last Day Middle School (Early Release)
• 6/20: Last Day Elementary School (Early Release)
