Arlington Delegate Receives 2022 Equality Award For LGBTQ Advocacy

ARLINGTON, VA — Del. Patrick Hope (D-47th), who represents Arlington in the Virginia House of Delegates, received the 2022 Equality Award from the Arlington-Alexandria Gay and Lesbian Alliance.
During his 12 years representing the 47th district in Richmond, Hope has been one of the most supportive members of the Arlington delegation to AGLA and LGBTQ issues, according to the nomination of Hope for the 2022 AGLA Equality Award.
Hope received the award at AGLA’s holiday party on Dec. 17. The Equality Award is awarded annually to people and organizations for supporting the goals of AGLA.

Founded in 1981, AGLA is a nonprofit that serves Northern Virginia’s LGBTQ community and allies.
As a member of the House of Delegates, Hope has “consistently remained a dues paying member and donor in addition to regularly attending AGLA events,” according to the nomination.

“This is the icing on the cake when one looks at his record of advocating for LGBTQ+ individuals in Richmond,” the nomination said.
