Arlington-based and Brazilian-born designer Emily Gonzaga hosted her brand's first headline show in the greater Washington region at the Georgetown waterfront this month.
Gonzaga debuted her brand D’Milikah's 2013 High Summer Swimwear Collection at a runway show June 12 on the Nick's Riverside Grill patio at the Washington Harbour. The line features, "exotic animal prints, and 80’s style inspiration all with a Brazilian flair," according to a news release.
D’Milikah items were first released at the Celebrity Grammy Gift Lounge this year and were then invited to be part of the Emmy Nominee Gift bag.
Gonzaga told Patch in February that the name D’Milikah stems in part from a nickname she had growing up — ”Mili” from Emily and “kah” from her surname Kennerly.
Visit D’Milikah's website to view more designs or to shop.
