Arlington, Falls Church Restaurants Nominated For RAMMY Awards

ARLINGTON/FALLS CHURCH, VA — Several Arlington and Falls Church restaurants are up for RAMMY awards, a top honor for the restaurant and food service industry in the DC region.

RAMMY awards are open to members of the Restaurant Association Metropolitan Washington.

Among the nominees is Ruthie’s All-Day, across S. Glebe Road from an Arlington County Fire Station, which was nominated for “Casual Restaurant of the Year.”

In the “Hottest Sandwich Spot” category, Queen Mother’s Restaurant just off Columbia Pike in Arlington was one of five nominees.

Northside Social, with locations in Clarendon and Falls Church, was nominated in the “Wine Program of the Year” category.

Thompson Italian in Falls Church was nominated for “Standout Family Meal Packages To Go.”

Bayou Bakery in Courthouse and Stellina Pizzeria in Shirlington were nominated in the “Splendid Holidays at Home” category.

Mark Bucher of Medium Rare was nominated for Restaurateur of the Year. Medium Rare’s restaurant in Arlington is located on Fairfax Drive Virginia Square

Scott Drewno and Danny Lee of The Fried Rice Collective also were nominated for Restauranteur of the Year. They operate CHIKO in Shirlington.

The nomination ceremony for the 40th annual awards was held Tuesday night. Winners will be announced at the RAMMY Awards Gala on July 24 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center.

Judges will decide winners for most of the RAMMY categories. The seven categories decided by a public vote will be Favorite Gathering Place of the Year, Favorite Fast Bites, Best Brunch of the Year, Outstanding Pop-Up Concept, Standout Family Meal Packages To Go, Splendid Holidays at Home and Hottest Sandwich Spot.
