Arlington Firefighters Extinguish Burning Power Pole
Arlington County firefighters extinguished a burning fire pole near Fort Myer Monday afternoon.

ARLINGTON, VA — Units from the Arlington County Fire Department responded Monday afternoon to a burning power pole near Fort Myer, according to posts on the department's official Twitter account.
Arriving units had to wait until Dominion Energy until shut off power before they could extinguish the blaze. Videos posted on Twitter showed firefighters working to put out the fire around 2:27 p.m., in the 100 block of S. Wise Street.
Dominion Energy customers in the area may experience power disruptions, according to a Twitter post.

No injuries were reported, according to Capt. Justin Tirelli, ACFD public information officer.
