Arlington Loses to Monroeville in 14U Babe Ruth Tournament
Arlington's team came close at the end and plays the Greenville, N.C., team on Saturday.

Jacob Johnson of the Monroeville, Ala., 14U Babe Ruth baseball team surrendered four first inning runs to Arlington by walking Will Burgess, Alex Saenz, James Levenberg and Daniel Bowler, but the 6-foot-3, 200-pound Johnson settled down over the next five innings and got seventh inning relief help to nip Arlington 7-6 in second-round action of the Southeast Regional 14U Babe Ruth baseball tournament in Purcellville.
Teddy Herbert had two of Arlington's five hits in his three at bats. He made several leaping catches at first base, one to end the first inning with Johnson barreling into him as he re-touched the bag.
After Monroeville scored twice in the second inning and once more in each of the fourth and fifth to tie the game, Arlington's defense allowed three unearned runs in the sixth and trailed 7-4 entering the seventh.
