ARLINGTON, VA — Arlington County Police arrested a local man after he threatened following a standoff at a Foxcroft Heights residence, according to the daily crime report.

Officers were dispatched around 7:45 a.m. to a residence in the 900 block of S. Orme Street for the report of a dispute between known individuals. A man involved in the dispute threatened to stab the victim with a knife. The victim told the man that he was intoxicated and in an engaged state. Once the police arrived, the victim and others were able to escape the residence safely.

After obtaining a warrant for the man from the Magistrate's Office, the officers tried multiple times to make contact with the man at the scene, while negotiators tried to contact him by phone. Just as police were about to leave the scene to de-escalate the incident, a family member was able to convince the man to exit the residence.
