Arlington Man Gets 100 Months in Prison for Thousands of Child Pornography Images

The Department of Justice say he was in possession of 13,000 images and 400 videos of child porn.

ALEXANDRIA, VA — An Arlington man has been sentenced to 100 months in prison after pleading guilty to child pornography charges.

The Department of Justice announced in a statement that 50-year-old James Jeffrey Schroeder of Arlington, a former teacher's assistant in Texas, was sentenced for receiving and downloading child pornography. Once he has served his sentence, he will have 20 years of supervised release and will have to pay $182,000 in restitution to victims.

Schroeder pleaded guilty to the charges on Oct. 28. He received and downloaded child pornography both from an the internet and from a family member between 1997 and 2015, and had more than 13,000 images and 400 videos of child pornography, with many being "sadistic or masochistic in nature," the DoJ statement reads.
