ARLINGTON, VA — An elderly Arlington resident was able to survive five days on a diet of nothing but Coca-Cola after he fell in his Williamsburg neighborhood home and was unable to get up, according to a report. The man fell in his kitchen and was able to drink the soda because it was within arm’s reach.
According to ARLnow, the man was discovered after his mail carrier noticed on Aug. 2 the man’s door was open and his mail was unmoved. A neighbor called the police, who discovered the man on the kitchen floor of his home in the 3000 block of North Trinidad Street.
A spokesman for the Arlington County Fire Department told ARLnow the man was in relatively good condition when he was transported to Virginia Hospital Center.
