The Arlington Players Win Best Musical at WATCH Awards for 'Nice Work If You Can Get It'

ALEXANDRIA, VA — The Arlington Players had a strong night at the Washington Area Theatre Community Honors awards show Sunday night, taking home seven awards for the musicals "Man of La Mancha" and "Nice Work If You Can Get It," including the award for best musical for the latter.

WATCH is an organization founded to recognize the "artistic and technical excellence in community theatre throughout the metropolitan Washington, D.C. area," according to the website. The awards ceremony was held at The Birchmere in Alexandria on Sunday night.

"Nice Work If You Can Get It" won the award for outstanding musical. The play won two other awards for choreography and direction of a musical.

"Man of La Mancha" had a strong night as well, winning four awards for outstanding properties, set design, set decoration and set construction.
